Specialty Classes

Although CPWN emphasizes a play based curriculum, opportunities for the development of specialized skills in a semi-structured enviroment are critical to the overall learning process. Our specialty classes enhance self-regulation, attention and cognitive skills that young children need. We are currently offering three weekly specialty classes - Spanish, Movement and Art.

Our Spanish class exposes the students to basic vocabulary and Spanish culture using live music, puppetry and dance. It is a lively class and a great way for children to begin learning a new language.

 In our Art class, students are divided by age to engage in developmentally appropriate art experiences. Our younger children may explore different art media, as our older children receive instruction on specific techniques that aid in self expression of artwork.

 Our Movement class helps children develop an awareness of their bodies while developing flexibilty, coordination and strength.
